Taking responsibility – respect for nature
To protect our planet, we only use sustainable materials for our products. In this way we treat our earth’s natural resources with the greatest respect. Our products are ecological and very durable.
In the following you can find out more about the materials we use for EDELKRAFT sports products and where they originate from.
Our products are made primarily of wood. Wood is the best renewable and most versatile raw material on our planet. We adhere to very clear guidelines that guarantee sustainable management and processes. The wood production of EDELKRAFT products is also completely climate-neutral.
The wood used by EDELKRAFT is FSC or PEFC certified. These certificates guarantee that the appropriately labelled forests are operated sustainably in accordance with high environmental protection guidelines.
The wood of EDELKRAFT products is processed by small family businesses in central and southern Germany. We are in close personal contact with them, which enables us to guarantee a high level of transparency, short transport routes, fair social structures and working conditions. We only use high-quality strong woods from deciduous trees. Our versatile sports products utilize beech, birch and walnut wood, for example.
For our EDELKRAFT sports products we use the sustainable, renewable raw material natural rubber. It is extracted from the white juice of the rubber tree (gummi arabicum) and processed into natural gum. This means that we can completely avoid the use of synthetic rubber, which is produced of mineral oil.
To obtain the natural rubber, the bark of the rubber tree is scored so that the white liquid flows out and can be further processed. In this way, the tree can serve as a supplier of raw materials for 40 years. The largest growing areas are in Indonesia and Thailand.
Natural rubber is not only more ecological than synthetic alternatives, it also has better material properties. This makes it a perfect anti-slip surface for our sports equipment.
